OCM: Optimized Contour Milling

Option 167 (SIK), Option 1-02-1 (SIK2)

This software option enables trochoidal milling for any islands or pockets (closed or open). Trochoidal milling engages the entire tool edge under constant cutting contidions.

The OCM software option contains the following cycles:

• Cycle 271 OCM CONTOUR DATA
• Cycle 272 OCM ROUGHING
• Cycle 273 OCM FINISHING FLOOR and Cycle 274 OCM FINISHING SIDE
• Cycle 277 OCM CHAMFERING
• The control also provides OCM STANDARD FIGURES for frequently used contours

OCM can shorten your machining time and reduce the rate of tool wear.
